If you’ve wondered where most of my time goes, here it is. That and daydreaming of the day I have a bestselling novel, live in a cozy NYC brownstone, draw outstanding portraits and write fanfiction all day, every day. It’s sad how I do all of this dreaming, yet I don’t do the work to make these dreams possible.

  1. You’ve got a good sense of humor and a breezy writing style. I know talent when I see it. Now turn off the tumblr and get to work on your novel and portraits!

    Damn it.

Question: Where do you want to be in five years? Agent shopping for your debut novel while supporting yourself with art, or looking at your computer monitor and saying, “Hmmm. I can’t believe how much time I wasted playing on that dumb site”?

    1. Thank you so much for the compliment!

I have to say, although Tumblr is a time consumer for me (browsing my dash is pretty entertaining, considering the people I follow), I don’t regret wasting time on the site. That site’s gotten me through some tough times, as well as introduced me to many awesome things and people I might not have become interested in or known about otherwise.

I admit, however, that there are better things I could be doing with much of that time, such as getting my writing in order and doing more of it. Thankfully, I’m part of an awesome writing group that keeps me on my toes, and I’ve written a couple of things — a bit of fan fiction here, some original fiction there, and ordinary blog posts in between. It’s nice to get back into the groove of writing again, because it’s one of few things that keep me sane!

(And yeah, those smileys can be peeping-tom-grade creepy!)
