YouTube May Be (One Of) The Best Way Of Introducing Oneself To Classic Novels

If you’re wondering what I mean, I’m referring to The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, a YouTube web series based on the Jane Austen classic, Pride and Prejudice. It follows the story of Lizzie Bennet, a grad school student majoring in Communications while living with her parents and two sisters, Jane and Lydia.

I’d never read the book — or maybe I have, but have either lost interest in it early on or never finished it at all, I don’t remember — but I’m really enjoying the modern-day adaptation.

And there’s no argument — this is an adaptation, not a mockery, so for those of you turning your nose up as you read this, close the tab this post is situated in ASAP.

Ain’t nobody got time for that…

Back to the LBD: I’m really enjoying this series; I started with the first episode earlier this afternoon, and I’m already on episode 46. Once I’ve had my slight breather, I shall continue viewing the series.

I’m also tempted to read the novel, now that I (so far) understand the story. May even get my hand on a copy sometime fairly soon!
