Since the Golden Globes is Forever Whitewashed, Let’s Celebrate the Blackness

As usual, the Golden Globes were a pretentious celebration of white awesomeness. Very few Black people were nominated and our impressive works of art, like Selma, were sidestepped for various coming-of-age white stories that I positively never heard of.

my tweetIn the coming days, we’re sure to see mainstream white media outlets circulating stories and photos about how great white people are. Hell, it’s already happening. ArtsMic already published a story saying that comediennes Amy Poehler and Tina Fey “slayed” the opening monologue. Like really? Sure, there were a few zingers and sprinkled chuckles, but to “slay” is a term of endearment used for the likes of Beyonce and Lupita, not an average soliloquy. Watch for yourself, and tell me if they “slayed.”
